GPT-5.6 Sol: A Streamed Coding Reply on Fluxio's Relay Service

Model tidesEN

§1 Day 1: One GPT-5.6 Sol Coding Reply, Token by Token

Here is a hypothetical first-week diary, written as an example rather than a customer story. On day 1, you open your editor, point your OpenAI-format client at Fluxio, and ask GPT-5.6 Sol to refactor a function. The reply does not arrive as one sealed block. It flows back token by token over server-sent events, so you can read the reasoning while it is still being written. That streaming-first experience is the reason Fluxio bills on real usage: every stream reports the tokens it actually consumed, and there is no flat per-request fee layered on top.

For this example, suppose the request carries 2,000 input tokens and the model returns 1,000 output tokens. On Fluxio, GPT-5.6 Sol is priced at $0.3861 per 1M input tokens, $2.16 per 1M output tokens, and $0.0306 per 1M cache read tokens. The arithmetic works out to:

  • – 2,000 input tokens at $0.3861 per 1M tokens comes to $0.0007722.
  • – 1,000 output tokens at $2.16 per 1M tokens comes to $0.00216.
  • – One streamed coding reply therefore costs $0.0029322 on this example.

That figure is a worked example, not a quotation for your own code. Your own requests will have their own token counts, and Fluxio's usage log shows the tokens and cost for each individual request so you can see where the numbers came from. For context, the official list price shown for GPT-5.6 Sol is $4.00 input, $20.00 output, and $0.40 cache read per 1M tokens, with the $4.00, $20.00, and $0.40 figures described as an OpenAI promotional price announced until at least 2026-11-21.

§2 Day 2 and Day 3: Adding Up a Week of Streamed Replies

By day 2, the pattern is familiar: you ask for a patch, then a test, then a short explanation of the diff. Suppose you keep the same shape as day 1 and send 10 replies a day for 7 days, which is 70 replies in total. That is an example of a light week, and it works out to 140,000 input tokens and 70,000 output tokens.

  • – 140,000 input tokens at $0.3861 per 1M tokens comes to $0.054054.
  • – 70,000 output tokens at $2.16 per 1M tokens comes to $0.1512.
  • – The full example week totals $0.205254, or about $0.21.

Cache reads are priced separately on Fluxio, so a week that reuses a large context block behaves differently. If your example run reads 500,000 cache read tokens at $0.0306 per 1M tokens, that adds $0.0153 to the same week. Fluxio counts each request on the tokens reported by the model, with four token types at separate prices: input, output, cache write, and cache read.

Day 3 brings the interruption that every streaming user eventually meets. Your laptop sleeps, the network blinks, and the client disconnects halfway through a long reply. On Fluxio, the relay service still reads the reply to its end, bills only the tokens actually used, and adds no penalty. Tokens already generated are not refunded, because the work was already done, but you are never charged for a flat request fee on top of the stream either.

§3 Day 4: Comparing GPT-5.6 Sol With Other Models on Fluxio

On day 4, you start comparing options instead of guessing. Fluxio carries GPT-5.6 Sol at $0.3861 input and $2.16 output per 1M tokens. Its sibling GPT-6.1 Sol is listed at $0.1944 input, $0.9722 output, and $0.0389 cache read per 1M tokens, with an official list price of $2.00 input, $10.00 output, and $0.10 cache read. GPT-6 Astra is listed at $0.6806 input, $3.40 output, and $0.0681 cache read per 1M tokens, with an official list price of $10.00 input, $50.00 output, and $1.00 cache read.

Other families sit on the same Fluxio dashboard with their own rates. MiniMax M3 is $0.1514 input, $0.6028 output, and $0.0306 cache read per 1M tokens. MiMo V2.6 Pro is $0.2111 input, $0.4208 output, and $0.002778 cache read. Gemini 2.5 Flash is $0.2097 input, $1.68 output, $0.0208 cache read, and $0.2097 cache write per 1M tokens. Claude Fable 5 is $3.50 input, $17.50 output, $0.2694 cache read, and $4.31 cache write, against an official list price of $10.00 input, $50.00 output, and $1.00 cache read.

Client placement matters, and Fluxio keeps it clear. GPT-5.6 Sol works from any OpenAI-format client, including Cursor, Cherry Studio, Cline, OpenCode, OpenAI SDKs, and cURL, and Codex runs GPT models. Claude models work only in the official Claude Code and Claude Desktop apps, version 2.1.285 or newer. Gemini models work only through Gemini CLI on their native protocol, and are not OpenAI-compatible.

§4 Day 5: Pay-Per-Token Balance Versus a Monthly Plan

By day 5, the question is whether a monthly plan fits your rhythm better than topping up a balance. The pay-per-token route on Fluxio has no monthly fee. Top-ups come in the amounts of $1.39, $6.94, $13.89, $27.78, $69.44, and $138.89 through Stripe Checkout, and every new account receives $0.12 in sign-up credit.

The refund window is worth noting. Unused balance from a top-up can be refunded within 4 days of that top-up, minus what was consumed and payment fees, and you ask through the message page. If instead your usage grows into a steady pattern, the GPT monthly plan at $59.58 gives an allowance of up to $2600 over 30 days, at most $800 a week. The larger GPT monthly plan is $183.19 for an allowance of up to $8000 over 30 days, at most $2400 a week.

One detail deserves emphasis: allowances on these plans are counted at the plan rate, not at list prices, with a multiplier of × 2.8. Both GPT monthly plans cover GPT models only and use your own API key. On a week like the example above, where 70 replies cost about $0.21, a pay-per-token balance keeps the relationship between what you send and what you pay direct and visible.

§5 Day 6 and Day 7: Limits, Logs, and Keeping the Account in Order

On day 6, you check the operational side of Fluxio. Each key is limited to 120 requests a minute, and each account can hold 8 streams open at once. Those limits shape how a coding session feels: a handful of concurrent streams stays comfortably inside the account boundary, while a burst of parallel calls stays inside the per-key pace.

On day 7, you open the usage log, which records each request along with its tokens and cost. That is how you can reconstruct a week like the example above, or notice that a long cached context is being read repeatedly. The interface is available in six languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, and French.

Fluxio also has a referral arrangement that fits the diary frame. You receive 17% of what a directly invited friend pays, and 5% for the next level. Rebates can move into your balance or be withdrawn from $12.50 by Alipay. If something needs attention, support messages go from the site contact page or the dashboard, and replies appear in the dashboard, because there is no support email.

What stays with you at the end of the example week is simple arithmetic and a steady experience: streamed replies on GPT-5.6 Sol through Fluxio arrive token by token, report their real usage, and are billed on the tokens the model actually produced, with a dropped connection adding no penalty of its own.
